Minnesota Workers' Compensation

Minnesota has updated its Workers’ Compensation notice to include new language clarifying that certain work-related psychological injuries, including PTSD diagnosed by a licensed psychologist or psychiatrist, may qualify for benefits. The notice also updates Department of Labor contact information.

Santa Fe, New Mexico Minimum Wage

Effective: March 1st, 2026

The city of Santa Fe, New Mexico has increased the minimum wage to be paid to workers within city limits to $15.40 an hour. This change is a result of the city’s schedule wage change that takes place every year, effective March 1st of each year.

New York City, New York Protected Time Off

Covered entities that maintain a HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices (NPP) face an important compliance deadline. By February 16, 2026, organizations must update their NPPs to reflect new federal requirements aligning the HIPAA Privacy Rule with enhanced confidentiality protections for substance use disorder (SUD) treatment records under 42 C.F.R. Part 2.

Oregon Blood Donation Leave

Effective: January 1st, 2026

Effective January 1, 2026, Oregon law expands the permitted uses of accrued sick time to include blood donation. Employees may now use earned sick time to donate blood when participating in a voluntary program approved or accredited by the American Association of Blood Banks or the American Red Cross. This change amends Oregon’s existing sick time statute to formally recognize blood donation as a qualifying use of paid sick leave. As a result, Oregon labor law posters have been updated to include a new notice explaining this employee right.
