There are two separate minimum wages in Hayward, California where 1) is for “large employers”, defined as having 26 or more workers, and 2) is for “small employers” with 25 or fewer workers. Both got raised to new rates effective January 1st, 2024. Firstly, “large employers” must pay a minimum wage of $16.90/hr – “small employers” must pay a minimum wage of $16.00/hr
